Beginners Pilates

About the course

Have you ever wanted to try pilates but felt unsure how to? At PT Pilates you can begin your pilates journey in a safe, nurturing space.

​

The course will run for 6 consecutive weeks working on the fundamentals and principles of Pilates for those at a beginner’s level or new to the STOTT PILATES® method. You will learn how to perform the basic Pilates moves and build up your repertoire gradually over the 6 week period. 

​

We ensure that you work to your own body's specifications whilst learning the exercises with proper technique so that you reach your full potential.

Course Overview

Each 55 minute class will include:

  • Warm up, breathing and mobilisation exercises

  • Spinal articulation and mobilisation in all different planes of movement - flexion, extension, lateral flexion and rotation

  • Core abdominal and pelvic floor strength 

  • Hip stability and mobility

  • Shoulder stability and mobility

  • Standing strength exercises

  • Cool Down Stretches

Doing workouts with Jane has been great and got me back on the fitness path. She takes it slow, explains everything clearly and demonstrates the pose from the front and side so you can see how to hold yourself. There are extra challenges for each position if you want to take it to the next level. She uses props you can find in the home which makes working out in lockdown accessible. The timings are a perfect length to push you but not exhaust you. You finish feeling strong, stretched and ready for the day
